In short: slice, the Bengaluru fintech that now runs as a small finance bank, has reportedly raised up to $100 million in a round led by Neo Wealth, at a valuation of about $450 million. The round mixes fresh money with existing investors selling some of their shares. Japan’s Kado Global and US-based Moore Strategic Ventures also took part.

Why it matters

The new valuation is roughly 68% below the $1.4 billion slice was valued at in 2021, showing that investors now value fintechs on profits rather than growth alone. slice has turned profitable, reporting a net profit of about ₹48 crore for FY26 and about ₹51 crore for April–June 2026.

Good to know

slice started in 2016 with buy-now-pay-later style cards and became a bank after merging with North East Small Finance Bank, which the RBI approved in October 2023. It now offers savings accounts, fixed deposits, UPI-linked credit cards and loans for small businesses. The funding details come from media reports, and slice has not commented publicly.
