What it means for you
- Be extra careful with calls and messages. Leaked loan details are often used to make fraud calls sound genuine. The bank will not ask for your OTP, PIN or CVV.
- Do not click links in SMS or WhatsApp messages claiming your loan or KYC needs urgent updating. Use the official AU 0101 app or a branch.
- Check your credit report every few months for loans or cards you did not take. Our guide on credit score myths explains how checking it works.
- If money is taken by fraud, call the national cybercrime helpline 1930 or file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in, and inform your bank at once.
